About the Role:
We are looking for an adventurous, passionate, and highly skilled Parametric Designer & CAD Specialist to join our design team in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The right candidate loves music as much as we do and thrives at the intersection of creativity and technology. You will collaborate closely with industrial designers, engineers, and acoustic specialists to develop parametric models and advanced CAD solutions that bring bold ideas to life for Harman’s iconic brands, including JBL, Harman Kardon, and AKG.

What You Will Do:
The right candidate loves music as we do, brings a fresh perspective on design & innovation and has the ability to understand and translate latest fashion, interior and cultural design trends into iconic product experiences for Harman’s iconic brands, including JBL, Harman Kardon and AKG.
You will take a lead role with hands-on responsibilities working in a very fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You understand that great design can amplify the lives of real people and how this builds a strong brand.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with industrial designers to translate design intent into scalable parametric CAD models.
- Develop and manage rule-based, generative design workflows (Grasshopper, Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Dynamo, etc.).
- Produce precise 2D and 3D CAD files for prototyping and production.
- Use scripting (Python, C#, VB, or similar) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline design workflows.
- Support the team with digital simulations, rendering, and visualization to validate performance, ergonomics, and acoustics.
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams (design, engineering, CMF, manufacturing, UI/UX) to ensure feasibility and brand alignment.
- Prototype and test designs using in-house and external fabrication resources, including 3D printing, CNC, and rapid prototyping.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, exploring new digital tools, generative methods, and fabrication processes.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Love for design, music, and technology.
- At least 3 years of experience in parametric design, CAD modeling, or computational design for consumer products.
- Advanced skills in CAD software (Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar).
- Proficiency with parametric and generative design tools (Grasshopper).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, 3D printing).
- Experience with rendering and visualization tools (KeyShot, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to clearly communicate technical and design concepts across teams.
- Strong collaborative working style, with maturity in communication and problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Computational Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global team environment.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Bonus Points if You Have:
Experience in music technology, audio products, or consumer electronics.
Background in acoustics, product ergonomics, or performance-driven design.
Familiarity with CMF integration and documentation.
Skills in generative design, AI-driven optimization, or custom tool development.
A portfolio showcasing complex parametric systems and CAD mastery.
