About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Techno-Functional professional to lead and support Master Data Governance solutions by bridging business requirements and technical implementation. This role requires strong ABAP expertise combined with functional knowledge of master data processes across Finance, Material, Business Partner, and related domains. The individual will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams (MDG, MM, SD, FICO, PP), architects, and integration teams to design, develop, integrate, migrate, synchronize, and support scalable MDG solutions. This position is part of the Data Analytics team and reports to the Director, Digital Strategy.
What You Will Do
Manage and support SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions from a techno-functional perspective across business processes and domains.
Configure and enhance MDG Data Models, UI Models, and Process Models to support evolving business requirements.
Develop and enhance Web Dynpro/FPM-based MDG applications along with SAP Workflow and BRF+ configurations.
Set up and manage SOA Manager, including Web Service configuration, logical ports, service bindings, and troubleshooting of service integrations.
Design, publish, consume, and support SOAP-based Web Services and interfaces using ALE/IDOC, RFC, BAPI, and related integration technologies.
Support IDOC enhancements, custom IDOC developments, and integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC systems.
Optimize ABAP code, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure adherence to ABAP OOPS development standards and best practices.
Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, prepare detailed documentation, and provide scalable design recommendations for data migration and consolidation initiatives.
Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT cycles, provide production support and incident resolution, participate in upgrades and releases, and collaborate closely with business leaders and process owners to deliver effective technical solutions.
What You Need to Be Successful
Strong hands-on experience in SAP MDG functional configuration, enhancements, and synchronization customizing.
Expertise in SAP Workflow, BRF+, and process modelling within SAP MDG landscapes.
Proven experience in SOA Manager configuration, Web Services setup, and interface management.
9 to 14 years of SAP MDG experience with a strong background in ABAP development.
Demonstrated expertise in ABAP Objects (OOPS) across MDG developments and customizations.
Strong integration experience using ALE/IDOC, RFC, and Web Services.
Good functional understanding of master data processes across MM, SD, FICO, and PP modules.
Experience in supporting data migration activities and mass data uploads using LTMC, LSMW, and BDC.
Proven ability to lead workshops and effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in end-to-end SAP MDG implementations across Finance, Business Partner (BP), and Material master data domains.
Hands-on experience in master data consolidation and governance transformation programs.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments and methodologies.
Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence for project tracking, collaboration, and documentation.
