Service Technician / Engineer – Luxury Audio
About the Role:
The role of the Service Engineer is to diagnose/test and repair to component level (where possible) returned goods from Customer (RTC) or Return to Stock (RTS) units entering the service department. They will maintain in-house company databases for recording fault details and liaise with other departments (Customer Support/Engineering/Purchasing in particular) as required.
What You Will Do:
Product test and repair:
- Diagnose, repair and test customer units in a timely manner (RTC).
- Diagnose, repair, test and re-work of production units to finished goods standard (RTS).
- Test and repair of sub-assemblies and components returned from customers and return to stock where appropriate.
- Liaise with Customer Support as necessary to facilitate progress of units through the department if more fault information required.
- Assist the Customer Support department with service related technical queries if required.
- Assist with implementation of running changes and modifications to finished goods stock if required.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Service Technician / Engineer with Audio equipment.
- Computer literacy, e.g MS Word/Excel and in-house databases.
- Level 2 (or above) City and Guilds in Electronic Servicing.
- Electronic and mechanical assembly skills.
- Soldering skills.
- Repair, test and fault finding of electronic assemblies to component level.
- Previous service experience of audio products preferred.
