About the Role

The role involves working as part of a software development team focused on amplifier product development. The software will primarily be deeply embedded and written in C. Occasionally, additional testing or development tools may need to be created on a PC. The underlying microprocessor architecture is based on AUTOSAR. This position is for an Embedded Software Engineer within the Car Audio – Automotive Audio division. The products to be developed include OEM automotive amplifiers and other audio processing solutions. These products typically consist of a main microcontroller for configuration, communication, and control, along with a DSP processor for audio processing.

What You Will Do

  • The engineer will be responsible for developing production-ready software by following a defined software development process.
  • The engineer must be capable of analyzing specifications, creating unit designs, developing unit and integration test plans, and verifying functionality.
  • They will also be responsible for the configuration and integration of software for amplifier products.
  • The engineer must understand requirements and be able to identify and develop CDDs using Vector tooling (such as DaVinci Developer and DaVinci Configurator) or other similar AUTOSAR stacks.
  • Develop CDD drivers for AUTOSAR applications
  • Understand the various features provided by AUTOSAR BSW modules (including MCAL modules) and configure these modules in DaVinci Configurator or similar tools
  • Possess working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers, emulators, compilers, etc.)
  • Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of software development processes
  • Working knowledge of embedded operating systems
  • Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications, and translate them into software designs
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms
  • Test software designs and code at both unit and system levels to ensure all requirements are met, the highest software quality is achieved, and C1 coverage is attained
  • Participate in internal and customer-driven design reviews throughout the program, supported by local SMEs
  • Collaborate with offshore development and validation teams to support software development activities
  • Communicate and interface directly with OEM customers, supported by regional SMEs

What You Need to Be Successful

  • 4+ years of experience with C or other structured programming languages & 2+ years of AUTOSAR experience (developing CDDs, configuring BSW using DaVinci Configurator and DaVinci Developer)
  • 4+ years of experience in microcontroller embedded software development or testing
  • Experience in developing and debugging software in real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environments
  • Experience working with vehicle networking (CAN, Ethernet, MOST, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating with offshore development teams
  • Experience managing and adhering to project schedules
  • Experience writing network drivers and applications (CAN, MOST, AVC-LAN, Ethernet)
  • Experience in developing or working with AUTOSAR MCAL/CDD development
  • Experience with uC-OSII or other embedded RTOS
  • Experience with V850 microcontrollers
  • Experience with S32K microcontrollers
  • Experience with ARM-based development

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Creative problem-solver, capable of identifying and reproducing complex software defects
  • Familiarity with audio processing
  • Familiar with Python Scripting, AGILE,ASPICE
