About the Role
The employee has the authority granted by the company through this document to make decisions for the benefit of the company to ensure the conformity of the product, its quality, functionality, the health and safety of the person who intervenes in the process according with quality, safety and environmental systems and customer specific requirements.
Under indirect supervision, create plans, implement and controls activities that require knowledge and handle well concepts, practices, and procedures of its core area of expertise of engineering, such as: Industrial, Manufacturing, Product, etc.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for manufacturing and process development during NPI launch projects, on their different gates, running the validation process, and providing build run issues and actions.
- Responsible for sustaining and improving standardized work processes: Operation diagram, Process documentation (OMS / VJI / Visual aid), time study, SWC (Standardized work chart), line balancing efficiency, and line capacity analysis and improvement.
- Support the manufacturing process by defining work methods, material handling, fixtures, and tools. Use different techniques, practices, and procedures within their area of expertise that support plant internal projects.
- Responsible for maintaining routers (labor cost time) on SAP current and new products.
- Responsible for plant layout changes based on new product and demand requirements. Coordinate layout changes with operations and maintenance.
- Support drawing changes.
- Responsible for process fixture and tools design, sourcing/fabrication, and validation.
- Responsible for defining SPC, CPK, MSA, analysis, and improvement.
- Responsible for defining the flow of the work centers, SAP (labor), and SAP (MES system).
- Active lead and responsible for the continuous improvement of the process, through lean manufacturing tools and principles.
- Improvement in Ergonomics.
- Leader of PFMEA, Definition of Process Specs & BOM per operation, Process Times.
- Participate in the definition of the Control Plan with the quality team.
- Conduct root cause problem-solving analysis for the process.
- Participate and provide support related to Environmental, Health and Safety objectives, targets, and programs.
- Interacts mainly with the departments of Quality, Production, Materials, Planning, and Maintenance, active team members of cross functional teams.
- Has the authority to stop a process or activity or give coaching if it detects unsafe or acts out conditions, that could put at risk the integrity and health of a worker and the environment, coordinating though the Production Supervisor.
- Participate in new product introduction from prototypes, throughout mass production, product/process transfers, Increase Capacity, Process Improvements.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Engineering Professional (Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronic, etc.).
- 5 years of experience in the engineering department.
- English required: Advanced (reading and writing that allows execution level, functions, and technical and conversational).
- Computer knowledge: Office, SAP, MS Project, Minitab.
- BOM configuration and engineering change management knowledge.

- CAD software knowledge: Intermediate: drawing software, Solid Works, Auto Cad, Pro-Eng. Design Tools.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings for parts and assemblies.
- BOM configuration and engineering change management knowledge.
- Risk Analysis oriented.
- Core Tools Knowledge (At least PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC).
- Know how on DFM: Design for Manufacturing:
- Knowledge in Time study, line balancing, fixturization, and work standardization.
- Problem-solving and Continuous improvement skills.
- Process Optimization, Line Balancing, Process Design skills.
- Drive or participate in automation projects with AME and suppliers related to the assembly process.
- Experience in the use of tools and manufacturing philosophies such as A3, Poka Yoke, 8D, SMED, 5's, 8 Waste, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Etc.
- Conflict Management.
- Programming and recipe development on SMT (Screen Printer, SPI, Reflow Oven Profiling, AOI, X-ray programming).
- Strong knowledge in Soldering-Profiling Process: SMT reflow ovens, selective, and wave solder.
- Experience in Fuji, Parmi, Kohyoung, and Dage is a plus.
- Knowledge in Board,s Finishes, and design.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 required.
- Knowledge of Lead and Lead-Free process
- Experience in Stencils, SMT-Wave Pallets design.
- Experience in Juki, Vitronics, Universal, and Phillarhouse is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Wood, aluminum mechanical properties.
- Knowledge of the FANUC operation system for CNC equipment or similar.
- Knowledge proficiency in MasterCAM.
- Proficiency in mechanical and assembly problem-solving experience.
- Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Experience with manual, semi-automated assembly tooling.
- Experience with CNC, Router, Pattern Cut, and Profile Cutting.
- Know how on Material management for epoxy, glue, paint, etc. (shelf life, temperature, humidity controls).
- Proficiency in mechanical and assembly problem-solving experience.
- Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Experience with manual, semi-automated assembly tooling.
- Knowledge of the packing process and materials.
- Torque specification.
- Know how on Material management for epoxy, glue, paint, etc. (shelf life, temperature, humidity controls).
- Demonstrates skills for removal and reapplication of paint, anodize compounds, or conformal coatings on the SRU /LAU/Chassis of military or commercial production assemblies, and SMT programmer.
- Removal and replacement of sub-assemblies using hand and semi-automated equipment.
